Anthony
Miranda is the Executive Chairman of the National Latino
Officers Association, Chairman of the Latino Action Center,
President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #196 and the
chairman of the LOA Foundation - a legal defense and education
fund.
Anthony is a graduate of the Cornell University
- Equal Employment Opportunity Program. Anthony graduated Phi
Beta Kappa from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and
graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York City Technical
College. Anthony is also a state certified instructor. Anthony
Miranda is a community activist born and raised in Brooklyn.
He is married to Sylvia Miranda and has two sons Antonio (10
yrs) and Andres (7yrs).
His community activism was
inherited from his parents, Mercedes & Sigfredo Miranda
and grandmother Anna Laborde. His parents founded and were
active in such programs as the USA Cadet Corps, the Bilingual
Social Economic & Recreational Program, Aguadilla Day Care
Center, Magnolia Plaza, and CABS Nursing Home to name a few.
He comes from a family of civil service workers and laborers.
His mother was a teacher and guidance counselor, his father
was an electrician and plumber.
